Introduction
Government Degree College Baldwara was established in 2014 with the H.P. Government Notification No .EDN-A-Ka(1)/2014 dated Feb24th ,2014 with a view to fulfill the educational needs of rural boys and girls. This College is affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University Shimla and Sardar Patel University, Mandi and recognized byUGC under 2(f)initially;thiscollege started functioning in the premises of Government Senior Secondary School Baldwara and was shifted to its own majestic building on 28thAugust, 2020. The College is well-linked with roads and is having a peaceful environment for studies.
The college is situated at Kohni about 1Km from Baldwara town, towards north on Ghumarwin – Sarkaghat State Highway.At present the college offers courses in Humanities, languages, Commerce and Sciences. The subjects being offered for studies are English, Hindi, Economics, History, Political Science, Sociology, Music (Vocal), Commerce, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany and Mathematics.
Over the years, the college has acquired excellent reputation by exhibiting outstanding performance in academics, sports, cultural and co- curricular activities.One unit ofNSS, One unit ofR&R,Red ribbonclub, Eco club and Road safety club are running in this college to provide opportunities to the students to develop the sense of social service, cooperation, discipline and leadership.

Vision: To Pay special attention to the educational needs of people especially rural girl-students from surrounding areas of Baldwara town and, to equip and empower them for all round development of their personality and to inculcate into young minds a civic sense and social responsibility.
Mission: To make best efforts to offer excellent education to the students of the rural areas.
To educate, engage and empower rural girls and boys so that they may become enlightened individuals, improving the living standard of their families and society and thereby contributing to the development of our nation.
