General Admission Rules:
i) Admission to various classes will be made on the recommendation of the admission committee constituted for the purpose.
ii) Any gap (latest) in the academic career of an applicant must be supported by an undertaking given by the candidates.
If the gap is 3 years or more, the candidate will not be admitted.
iii) A candidate seeking admission to first year of any course must come with his/her parent/guardian at the time of admission.
iv) All admissions will be provisional subject to the approval of the Vice-Chancellor, H.P.University Shimla
v) Admission will be strictly on fulfillment of eligibility conditions as fixed by HPU Shimla/H.P.Govt

Directions.
Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) :
This is having the following components
A) Classroom Attendance – Each student will have to attend a minimum of 75 Lectures/Tutorials / Practical. A student having less than 75% attendance will not be allowed to appear in the End- Semester Examination (ESE) Provided that those having between 74% and 65% attendance will apply for exemption in a prescribed form accompanied by clear reason (s) for absence to the authorized functionaries.
Provided that those having between 64% and 50% attendance will apply for exemption in a prescribed form accompanied by a Medical Certificate from a Government Hospital.
Provided that exemption from 75% attendance will be given to those participating in prescribed co- curricular activities (e.g. NCC,NSS, Youth Festivals, Sports etc.) to the extent of 25% (making the necessary attendance as 50% in these cases). However, the claim for this exemption should be supported by authenticated certificate from the concerned college authorities.
Provided further that those getting these exemptions will not be entitled for getting the CCE marks for classroom attendance as given below.
- 75% but 80% 1 marks
- 80% to 85 % 2 marks
- 85 but < 90% 3 marks
- 90% to 95 % 4 marks
- 95 % 5 marks
B) There will be one Mid-term Exams. for 10 marks
C) Seminar / Assignments / Attendance for 10 marks
D) There will be one Class Test for 5 marks
E) The remaining 70 marks will be awarded on the basis of an end-semester/year examination (ESE/EYE) that will be for three hours duration and will be covering the whole syllabus of the course.
If a student is not permitted to appear in the ESE/EYE due to shortage of attendance beyond the exemption limit (50% attendance), the candidate will be permitted to move to the next semester. Such candidates shall redo the missed semester/course after completing the rest of the program.
Upper Age Limit For Admission
i) For admission in TDC- First Semester the maximum age limit is 23 year (25 year for girls as on 1st July 2020.
ii) For SC/ST candidates relaxation of three years in age is allowed.
iii) The Vice-Chancellor may, in exceptional circumstances, to be recorded in writing, give relaxation in age up to maximum of six months.
Eligibility Conditions for Admission to 2nd & 3rd year
All students, who have appeared in 1st year/2nd year are eligible for Roll on (provisional) admission to 2nd year/3rd year. However, he/she will have to fulfill all the formalities laid down by the college authority.
Refusal Of Admission
1. Keeping aside the eligibility conditions for admission, the Principal may refuse admission, if the conduct of a student has not been up to the mark during previous year/semester.
2. A student disqualified / expelled/rusticated by any University shall not be admitted to any course during his/her disqualification period (HPU. Ord. No.3.6)
3. The Principal reserves the right to disallow or cancel any admission.
4. As there is no provision of compartment in the National Open School, new Delhi rules, so a candidate failed in any one or more than one subject/subjects out of five, is not eligible and will not be admitted (as per University Ordinances/Rules) to T.D.C.-I semester.
Migration
A) Candidates coming from Boards/ Universities other than H. P. Board of School Education/Himachal Pradesh University must produce original Migration Certificate.
B) Original Migration Certificate is to be attached with the H.P.U. Registration.
Admission Procedure
1. Application form, available in the college office, must be complete in all respects along with the following documents.
a) Character certificate from the institution last attended or issued by Gram Panchayat Pardhan or by some H.P. gazetted class I officer in case of an applicant seeking admission to the first year of any course or an applicant from any other College/ University seeking admission.
b) Attested copy of detailed marks of the previous examination passed. In case of non-receipt of this certificate the candidate may attach a certificate issued by the Head of the institution last attended.
c) Attested copy of Matriculation Examination / Date of Birth Certificate.
d) Two passport size photographs of the candidate and one passport size photograph of either father or mother.
2. A candidate seeking admission to the 1st year of any course must appear before the concerned admission committee with his/her parent/guardian.
3. A candidate seeking admission to any class should appear before the concerned admission committee, thereafter the screening committee/scrutiy and finally before the Principal.
4. After the approval of the Principal the candidate must deposit fees within the days allotted for this purpose. In case he/she does not deposit his/her dues, his/her admission shall stand cancelled.
5. At the time of appearing before his/her admission committee, the applicant should submit his/her application form, complete in all respects with other documents in the sequence given below.
i) Admission Form
ii) Attested copies of all required certificates ( Matric, +2, previous class passed and Character Certificate)
iii) P.T.A. Enrollment Form
iv) P.T.A. General House Information Slip
v) Copy of Aadhaar Card.
vi) Copy of SC/ST/OBC Certificate.
